The American Girl Series has been a real hit around the Dewey household. In fact we have read through 4 of the sets of books. We found two mysteries when we went to Memphis. We are on our second book and it involves Addy. She is a former slave girl. Well, of course there was no indoor plumbing so that has caused lots of questions. Because she has to use the "privy"
"Mom, what is an alley," Girl
"It's like the area between houses," Girl
"Well, not exactly it's more like the area between two buildings in a city. Do you want to know because that's where Addy has to go to the bathroom?" Mom
"Yeah," Girl
"It's like a port-a-potty right mom," Girl
"Well, actually it's like a hole in the ground where you potty" Mom
"Did Muh have to use one?" Girl
"Well, maybe in some buildings there were some. A long time ago."
"So, was Muh alive when there was the slave war", Girl
"No, not exactly," Mom "In the middle of the night sometimes they had a pot beside their beds that they would use."
"Where would they put the potty in it?" Girl
"Now, that's a good question?" Mom
Show and Tell Update-Lauren's appendix pictures were a hit. She had "setheral" volunteers to help her show her pictures. She also informed me that next week she's taking a snake skin. I asked her where she thinks she's going to get that...she quickly told me Papa has one from "Athrica" and she can take it anytime.....okay so who is supplying the next show and tell.
